Argentina: Deceased Prosecutor's Case against President Dismissed

A top Argentine appeals court dismissed the case against President Cristina Fernandez brought by now deceased prosecutor Alberto Nisman. The suit alleged a cover-up in the investigation into the 1994 bombing of the AMIA Jewish Center and alleged Iranian involvement in the attack. The ruling cited the lack of evidence to back up such a claim. This is the third consecutive court ruling absolving Fernandez and with it, the judicial case is now concluded. Meanwhile, Fernandez charged that Nisman had ties to Paul Singer, head of one of the vulture funds seeking billions of dollars from Argentina’s government. She added that the links between creditors and the prosecutor were part of efforts to undermine her administration and Argentine sovereignty. teleSUR
