Pokémon XY - AshxSerena (Amourshipping) Moments

I loved Pokemon as a kid, but over the years I gradually watched the show less and less, until eventually I completely stopped. It just wasn't appealing any more, and new voice actors definitely weren't helping. But then I decided to check out the XY series when I noticed that the opening used a remix of the original theme song for the English dub. I was also interested in “Mega Evolutions,” particularly for classic Pokemon. For me, these were indications that the franchise was going back to its roots. Little did I know that the new girl, Serena, would have a crush on Ash. And now I'm hooked again (I have to watch in Japanese though, because I still can't get used to Ash's replacement English voice having grew up with Veronica Taylor's original English voice). So far my favorite moments include Mega Lucario going feral, Pikachu showing his love for ketchup again, characters turning into stone (an obvious throwback to the first movie), and, of course, all of the hints indicating Serena's infatuation with Ash.

Despite having only watched The Rise of Darkrai movie and a few episodes from the Diamond and Pearl series, Dawn was my favorite out of all the girls, followed by May. Sorry Misty fans, but I never saw her and Ash as a couple, even if she did show jealousy in The Movie 2000 - which, in my eyes, is still the best Pokemon movie to date. As for Iris, I've got no opinion because I completely skipped the Best Wishes series. But having seen XY now, I believe that Serena should be the one to have a romantic relationship with Ash. Serena actually has a crush on him, and Ash met her before even Misty. There's no need for fan fiction any more; this is as canon as it gets. This video shows the shipping moments between Ash and Serena - also known by fans as “Amourshipping” moments - up until Serena gets a haircut, which I thought was a good stopping point because not very many episodes have been released since then for now. I hope we get to see more kawaii moments and further development of an actual relationship between the two soon as new episodes are released.
