00:09 Hola amigos, nice to meet you. I'm a Cocker Spaniel.
00:13 I am so cute and soft, and I love being cuddled.
00:17 I'm a friendly, happy, enthusiastic breed. I enjoy people and other animals.
00:21 In fact, if you raise me with cats, you will find that I'm even affectionate toward them.
00:26 I know, right?
00:27 When socialized correctly, I'm more likely to wag my tail and lick someone to death than to growl at them.
00:34 I guess you'd say that due to my friendly nature, I'm not a very good guard dog.
00:39 My heritage dates back to the 14th century Spain, and some say we may have been one of the few breeds that came to America with the pilgrims.
00:48 Si, señor. We may have been on the Mayflower.
00:52 Here in the new world, selective breeding has made us, uh, I don't like to say, but small.
01:00 We are a medium-sized breed. We normally grow to about 14 to 16 inches long, and we weigh anywhere from 15 to 30 pounds.
01:10 We tend to live about 12 to 15 glorious years.
01:15 In general, we are healthy, but just like any other breed, we still have some health issues.
01:21 Some of the more serious ones include ear infections, heart, eye, and skin conditions.
01:27 Although we are naturally a very friendly breed, you should start training us straight away.
01:31 Socializing us is very important because without it, we can be shy and nervous around strangers.
01:38 But don't worry, to train will not be very difficult at all.
01:42 We are very smart dogs.
01:44 To live in an apartment would be, uh, okay, but for me to be very content, I should have a yard.
01:52 Basically, I want to be everyone's friend.
01:55 I'm very easy to train, I would like a nice size yard to play in, and my family can be traced back to España.
02:02 But enough about me. Give me a kiss now.
