Matilda is a 17-18 year old pot-bellied pig. She is considered an older pig and arthritic. What makes Matilda unique are her noises. She was neglected by her previous home. Pig Harmony rescued her from euthanasia. Matilda's ideal home is quiet, with a shed or a shelter and a small yard. If you'd like to be Matilda's forever home, contact pigharmony.com

00:00Everybody loves Matilda's noises. They make her very special. She could do voiceovers
00:27if Hollywood knew about her. That's her voice. She reminds me of Marge Simpson. Marge Simpson's
00:37sister is maybe a real heavy smoker. The best thing about Matilda are her noises. Like a
00:46T-Rex. Kind of like a loud oink. T-Rex. Matilda belonged to an elderly person that passed
01:01away and the son inherited the pig. And the son didn't want her and they thought it was
01:08amusing to let the dogs attack her. When Matilda came to Pig Harmony we didn't anticipate her
01:16expectancy to be more than three or four months. She was in pretty bad shape. Scrapes
01:24and bites. The sunburn and bad skin. Overgrown hooves. Just neglected. She was destined to
01:31go to the animal shelter and the animal shelter staff informed us if we didn't pull her in
01:37she would be euthanized as soon as she was received. That's basically what we were anticipating
01:42we would have to do and she's still ticking. Pig Harmony has started out as education and
01:51it's evolved into Potbelly Pig Rescue. The epidemic has just grown with the economy.
01:58It would be nice for Matilda to find a home so I would have space to take in another rescue.
02:05You know what you're getting with Matilda. You know how big she'll be. You know what
02:09her disposition is. Just someone that would be happy with petting her and feeding her
02:15and talking to her. There's a lot of reward in rescuing pigs like Matilda because she's
02:20the underdog and she would have been put to sleep three or four years ago and here she's
02:27had that much more life in her when we thought she was done. It's almost like the least adoptable
02:36they were, the more heartwarming it is when they find their home.
