00:00Bonjour, I am a French Bulldog, often referred to simply as a Frenchie.
00:16I am extremely social, pleasant, and cannot think of many faults within myself.
00:22We Frenchies have a reputation for being mischievous and clownish, stealing attention wherever
00:27and whenever possible.
00:28During the Industrial Revolution, artisan workers turned to smaller versions of the
00:33English Bulldog for company.
00:35Eventually, these smaller bulldogs were mixed with pugs and terriers to create the wonderful
00:40specimen you now see right in front of you.
00:43We can live 10 to 12 years on average, grow between 11 and 13 inches tall, and weigh between
00:4919 and 28 pounds.
00:51I am Brassiphallic, which means I have a short muzzle, flat face, and condensed breathing
00:57system which forces me to be a mouth breather and a bit of a snorer.
01:01We are also prone to joint diseases, spinal disorders, and eye problems.
01:06I am quite stubborn and need leadership, so it is imperative that you provide me with
01:11consistent training, and if I sense that you are being meek or giving in to my adorable
01:16ways, I will become stubborn, maybe even snappy.
01:19We Frenchies are great for apartment living, but please take me outside and play with me
01:24every day.
01:25Bear in mind that I do not do well in the heat.
