00:02 >> Baba Ganesh was brought in here.
00:04 He was around four or five weeks old with badly infected eyes.
00:08 Baba Ganesh has special needs because he is not only black,
00:13 which black hats are very difficult to place, he is also blind.
00:18 He's had about two or three eye surgeries, both cosmetically and
00:21 to improve his vision.
00:23 >> So Baba Ganesh came to us, had a medical problem with his eyes.
00:27 He had trouble closing them fully, and we went ahead and
00:30 did a procedure where it helps him to do a full closure of the eyelids, so
00:34 that it can produce proper tears.
00:36 Baba Ganesh is currently considered blind, but
00:39 there is a hope that he will eventually regain that ability to see.
00:43 >> Baba Ganesh has no limitations.
00:45 He loves to play and can sense where the toys are.
00:49 It's really sort of a magical thing to play with Baba Ganesh,
00:53 because he's just like any other kitty.
00:56 The Cat Connection has been doing rescue work since 1990.
01:00 Our mission is to create a no kill in the city of Los Angeles,
01:05 which is going to be a long battle.
01:08 Here we rescue just a small, minute number of animals that are out there for
01:12 homes.
01:13 So our part is we take in as many as we can.
01:17 The center comfortably holds between 10 and 13 cats.
01:21 The remainder of those cats are in foster care, and
01:25 our foster homes are invaluable, and we need you if you can foster for us.
01:28 That's how we can save more lives.
01:30 >> I would say Baba Ganesh is playful, brave, and
01:37 very resilient, because for what he's been through, he has a beautiful heart and
01:43 a beautiful, shining smile on his face.
01:46 The ideal home for Baba Ganesh would be with another cat, so
01:50 he would have a playmate.
01:52 Baba Ganesh is young and very playful, and
01:55 also needs a little bit of guidance of where things are at first.
02:00 Adopting a special needs cat is one of the greatest things you can do for
02:05 yourself and for another life.
02:08 When you adopt an animal, they become part of your family.
02:11 And just like family members, there can be problems,
02:14 there can be unforeseen medical issues and things that you might have to deal with.
02:18 But what you'll find is once the cats are in your home,
02:21 you can't imagine how you lived without them.
