00:00Hi, I'm Dr. Campbell. Today's episode we're going to talk about the five most
00:06dangerous foods that you don't want to give your dog.
00:18Roger H brings up this topic with an excellent question. He says, I love to eat
00:25while my dog is eating. Is it safe to give my dog all the foods that I'm
00:30eating? That's an excellent question, Roger H. There are some foods you can
00:34give, but here are the five most dangerous foods that you don't want to
00:39give your dog. Alcohol, big no-no. Grapes or raisins, certainly not. Watch out for
00:45those kidneys. Gum, xylitol, harsh on the liver. Garlic and onions, they can cause
00:53horrible anemia and destroy red blood cells. And last, no high-fat foods. Although
00:59this isn't on the list of the five most dangerous foods, it certainly could
01:04qualify for number six, and that is bones. Bones, I get that question all the time.
01:10Doc, I went to the butcher and I gave my dog a bone or I gave my cat a bone. No
01:15bones. They can cause a cut to the esophagus, they can cause vomiting
01:22diarrhea, but the worst of all, they can cause an obstruction in the intestine
01:27that will have to be surgically removed. Do you have a question you'd like me to
01:32answer? Just submit your question in the comment section below, and we'll see you
01:37next time. And remember, there's nothing stronger than the human-animal bond.
