00:00Come here, handsome. Good boy. I know. Let me help you up.
00:10You're a good boy. I know. You say, what are all these fuzzy things all around me?
00:22We're filming Adele's Rolling in the Deep, and Pete is playing a really important part.
00:28That he is a broken-hearted dog that his owner is two-timing on him.
00:33And so it's going to make him very sad, and he's going to express his sadness in a very unique Pete way.
00:39You know, the howl is something that he just learned to do naturally.
00:43It's really the pitch of our voice, I think, and it gets him really excited, and he can't help himself but do it.
00:49So when you go, yay, it makes his ears go up and him howl. So we'll demonstrate.
00:55Petey?
00:57Yay!
00:59Yay!
01:05Oh, Peter, look over here.
01:07Yay!
01:15The concept for this video is the owner is going on a date, and the dog is quite jealous of the owner going out with Matt.
01:23And so the dog is going to just, you know, just wreak havoc in their relationship if possible.
01:28The petities are something that we decided that it's really fun. People love music, people love animals.
01:35And so combining them, it's like a totally win-win situation.
01:39And it's been really fun to do because it's all the pop songs that we all like.
01:43And then you put dogs to it, and how can you not love it?
01:47I think the most important thing when doing a petity is taking the melody
01:51and finding the parts of the melody that you can replicate by using dog howls
01:55and that are going to be consistent with the song so that people can recognize it.
01:59It really is just taking a bark and moving around the sounds in the plug-in until it matches the correct frequency.
02:08In the Adele song, there's a lot of longer sung notes that she sings.
02:14For that, we had to implement howls.
02:16So in this particular song, the new obstacle has been taking howls and auto-tuning them
02:22so that they work in the context of recreating Adele's vocal melody.
02:30Chance is going to be the drummer for the piece.
02:33He beat out Billy, the little chihuahua that we originally had casted, because of his size.
02:40Chance has actually been in probably every single one of our videos.
02:43He was enough interest for Corgi Ray, and then Dogtier, is that how you pronounce it? Dogtier.
02:48And now he's going to be the drummer for this video. He's an awesome dog.
02:55The character that Jack played in this music video was, he was the ninja in the room.
03:01And I'm not exactly sure what it represents in the video, but he was quite good at it.
03:06Okay then! And we have that on camera.
03:09So he doesn't really want to act anymore. Jack's kind of fed up with what he's doing.
03:13And that's that.
03:23There's a sequence where there's about three, four, five hundred glasses.
03:28Instead of having glasses, we have dog bowls.
03:30And so we went out and bought twenty different dog bowls.
03:34And so it was my job to make twenty dog bowls into about six hundred of them.
03:40Once we have all the bowls in place, I take the photo into After Effects and I begin to comp in all the water.
03:50Tell us what you guys want. We would love to do, you know, another one.
03:54We're doing Adele, because that's what you said you wanted.
03:56But it's usually what ones are really popular, because they're the most fun to do.
04:01Oh, and this is Izzy.
