00:25with a brand new litter of kittens and a camera crew

00:30She's a good mom.

00:31She just doesn't care for anyone or anything

00:33that doesn't involve her babies.

00:35People, not having it.

00:38Other cats, definitely not having it.

00:42Protecting your babies when they have

00:43zero interest in being protected is kind of tough.

00:47Mama gets stressed seeing the babies grow up,

00:49not hanging around or needing her so much.

00:52She really needs a break.

00:54Foster dad to the rescue.

00:58Catnip is a special kind of natural herb

00:59that most cats go crazy over.

01:02There's a chemical in the plant cats specifically react to.

01:06It can make a cat go hyper, get really playful,

01:08jumping around everywhere, tearing up

01:10whatever gets in its way.

01:12Pretty much how I feel after too much coffee.

01:15Foster dad knows it's safe to give mom a catnip,

01:18and it's even safe for the kittens.

01:20Kind of like human kids when they eat too much sugar,

01:22only this won't rot your teeth.

01:25Kittens this young don't usually react to catnip.

01:29Obviously an exception to the rule.

01:32Even great cats like pumas and jaguars can react to catnip.

01:36But you might not want to be around when they do.
