Episode 16: The kittens are 7 weeks old and already think they're adults. They barely hang around Momma anymore, and it makes Momma feel more than a little glum. At least Tabby Apple, the kitten who even looks like Momma the most, has been a ""good daughter"". She's been the only one to still hang around Momma and keep her company. But even Momma's little angel will start itching for some independence...

00:00Kittens are insane.
00:01Insanely cute.
00:05No, I'm serious.
00:06They're crazy.
00:07I'm Chloe Kardashian Odom, and you're watching The Litter,
00:21right here on The Pet Collective.
00:24Of course, part of it is their age.
00:26The kittens are about seven weeks old,
00:28and everything is a reason to get excited and go nuts.
00:32Dad's home from work, playtime.
00:34Someone change the litter, it's on.
00:36Pen cap on the floor, make my day.
00:40The only one to hang back and keep mom
00:41a company has been Tabby Apple.
00:45Sure, she'll play with her brother and sisters.
00:47Most of the time, though, she's just not that interested.
00:51She likes to keep things chill and relaxed.
00:54Read a book, meditate.
00:56A drama-free chick, and that's hard to find.
01:00The kittens run off and do their own thing most of the time now.
01:04Mama will call for them to get back in the bedroom and behave.
01:07Yeah, like that ever works.
01:09The last thing these kittens are going to do is listen.
01:11No respect, I tell you.
01:13But Tabby hangs back.
01:15They're so cute next to each other.
01:18You could see the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.
01:21With all the other kittens off trying to take over the world,
01:24mom is happy to have her one baby who still needs her.
01:27She might be a little too happy.
01:30I think mom is getting kitten clingy.
01:33She won't leave Tabby alone for two minutes anymore.
01:36And now even Tabitha wants a taste of what
01:38the other kittens are up to.
01:40Freedom.
01:41This is Tabby's version of sneaking out the window.
01:45I mean, I never did this when I was her age.
01:48I was always the perfect angel.
01:50Right, mom?
01:51Nothing she could do about it, though.
01:53As kittens get older, they lose their reliance on their moms.
01:56Just like any kid, ideally.
01:58In the wild, they'd start separating from their mom
02:01around three months old.
02:02It's an instinct that lasted for a long, long, long time.
02:06Of course, there's nothing wrong with staying
02:07close to your litter.
02:09I mean, sisters.
02:10When Tabby has her own kids, she'll
02:12go through the same thing.
02:13Kidding.
02:15That won't be happening.
02:16Tabby's got her vet appointment on the books to fix her.
02:19Literally.
02:21Next time on the litter, gold!
02:27Hi, dolls.
02:29Don't forget to subscribe to the Pet Collective on YouTube.
