00:00Welcome back to the 44th annual Pet Games. Today, the High Dive.
00:04In this event, five dogs. Each dog will jump as far into the pool as they can.
00:12Each dog is judged based on the size ratio of his body to his distance into the pool, form, and the technique and execution of the dive.
00:19I'm sorry to interrupt, Jake, but just look at these guys and their goggles.
00:22The goggles don't actually do anything, Brett. They usually fall right into the water, but it certainly makes the dogs look cute.
00:28And ready.
00:29And ready, that's right.
00:31The first dog coming up, representing the UK, is Yogurt, or Yogi, as his fans call him.
00:36We've seen some impressive dives by Yogi in the past, and his enthusiasm is unmatched.
00:42Nice release by the owner.
00:44A stellar dive by Yogi. Let's take a look at that one one more time.
00:48Wow, very impressive height, nice distance. She really bounded forward.
00:52And notice how, when she hits the water, she goes right for the chew toy.
00:56Oh, that should fare well with the judges. Brilliant dive, Brett. Brilliant dive.
01:00And as the scores come back, it looks like Yogi is scoring very well. A total score of 28.6.
01:06Great start to the day. That looks like a score to beat. Brett, I'd put Yogi at the top of my list for the gold.
01:11Coming up on the block is Alice, representing, insert random country here.
01:16Alice told us before the show that she gets nervous in the water, but loves a nice, clean dive.
01:21And she nails the entry, but is scrambling to get out of the pool.
01:25Let's take another look at that dive while the scores come in.
01:28Yeah, you can see right here, she immediately breaks her form upon entering the water,
01:31and the judges have noticed, too, a 24.0, Brett.
01:35Unlikely to be a contender for a medal. Unlikely.
01:38Sucks for her.
01:39Next up is Chance, a multi-talented contender here at the Pet Games.
01:43In fact, I'm told he's never been a diver, but he figured, why not try, since he's won so much here at the Pet Games already.
01:50And it's a fake event, and there are only five dogs, so it's worth a dive.
01:54Oh, look at their reaction time.
01:56Nice, smooth dive for a first-time diver.
01:58Chance, excellent entry, great confidence.
02:01Extreme confidence, Jake. It looks like Yogi's getting a little jealous.
02:05Yeah, as always, he is being very territorial, as dogs will be.
02:09But he has nothing to fear, as Chance falls short with a 27.5.
02:13Great score, not enough to beat out Yogi, but still a great dive.
02:17Coming up next, representing North Sweden, is Hugo.
02:22Nothing significant to talk about there.
02:25Uh, let's just move along, shall we?
02:27Coming up, last year's gold medalist from Mexico, King.
02:31They actually call him the Air King, due to his amazing distance-to-size ratio.
02:35He looks so damn cute in his goggles.
02:38And, oh, great dive!
02:40King looks like a marble being shot off a cannon there.
02:43Great dive, that looked like the winner to me.
02:46He whips off the goggles, look, his friends come over to congratulate him.
02:50Well, they know he's a tiny dog, but they're all jealous of his giant heart.
02:53Oh, it looks like he sneaks between Chance and Yogi to take second place.
02:57Wow, I think he was robbed, Jake.
02:59Take a look at this again, great air, great entry, great form.
03:03All four paws going in the exact same direction, all at the same time.
03:06It's tough to coordinate that.
03:08Excellent release by the owner.
03:10This is a winning dive.
03:12Still, he keeps second. Let's go to the winner.
03:15Taking the number one spot is Yogi, representing the UK.
03:19And, surprisingly, in second is King from Mexico.
03:22And with the bronze is Chance.
03:24You know, this is Chance's third medal for the US in this Pet Games.
03:27But he never did get the gold.
03:29He just doesn't have it in him.
03:31He does not look happy.
03:33Well, he doesn't, but you know who does look happy? Yogi.
03:36You know, what a great day for diving.
03:37Thank you for joining us here at the Pet Collective
03:39for our continuing coverage of the 44th Annual Pet Games.
03:42I'm Jacob Engelhoff.
03:44Oh, wait, he's leaving. Chance is really mad about this.
03:48I'm Jacob Engelhoff.
03:49And I'm Brett Pagorgias.
03:50We'll see you next time.
03:53Bop-a-dee-bop-bop-a-doo!
03:55Ba-da-da-da-da!
