Peggy-Sue was purchased from a breeder with a nice family, but unfortunately were misled that she would stay a teacup pig and the family had to give her up because she got so large. Peggy Sue made the journey thanks to Pig Harmony to her new forever home with Kelly, who's life long dream it was to own a pig. Peggy-Sue, now known as Emma and Kelly have fulfilled each other's lives.

Please share this story to help other shelter animals.

Special thanks to Pig Harmony.

00:33 - At the time, my ex-wife actually brought her home
00:36 and surprised us all.
00:37 She was just a small little pig and she was misinformed,
00:41 much like I was told a lot of people are,
00:43 that she was just gonna be a small, miniature,
00:46 pot-bellied pig.
00:48 And so I thought maybe she's gonna be,
00:51 you know, no more than maybe a loaf of bread,
00:53 but it wasn't the case.

01:01 And I explained to them that this is the teacup.
01:07 This is what they grow up to be.
01:09 When they're born, they'll fit into a teacup,
01:10 but they don't last like that.
01:12 Come on, girlfriend, don't sit.
01:15 Come on.
01:16 - I'm gonna put you in the farm.
01:18 - And do this.
01:18 It's not difficult to move them.
01:22 If they're willing to walk,
01:23 it's lifting them into the vehicle, that's the hard part.
01:26 It's gonna take probably more than two of us.
01:28 - All right, ready?
01:31 - Okay.
01:32 Watch that lip.
01:32 Watch that lip.
01:36 - There you go.

01:39 - She's packed on the pound.
01:43 (laughing)
01:45 I am beyond excited.
01:48 I am thrilled.
01:48 I cannot put my emotions into words.
01:51 I've waited for this all my life.
01:53 And so knowing that she's here,
01:55 I'm already getting emotional about it.
01:57 I'm thrilled to have this dream fulfilled.
02:00 My mom bought me a book about pigs when I was five.
02:07 And ever since then, it's been a goal of mine
02:10 to someday be able to accomplish that.

02:18 To me, a miniature pig now just means anything
02:38 smaller than a farm pig.
02:39 As long as it's under 400 pounds, to me it's miniature.

02:47 I love their oinks.
03:07 That's the cutest noise an animal can possibly make.
03:09 I love how intelligent they are.
03:11 I love that they will bond with their owners
03:13 and that they can be incredibly affectionate.
