Mimi is a survivor. She arrived at the Los Angeles animal shelter in remarkably good condition except that she was close to birth.  Knowing the pups may not survive while at the shelter, volunteers and workers pleaded with the local animal rescues to help her.  Dogs Without Borders heard their call and Mimi gave birth to her pups in the home of loving foster mom, Brandie.  Today, all six pups and Momma Mimi are happy and healthy and looking for their next adventure.  A loving home.  Special thanks to Dogs Without Borders. 00:25If Mimi had stayed in the shelter and had her puppies in the shelter, I think a large

00:35percentage of puppies that are born into shelters die.

00:51When Mimi first came to our house, we had her and the puppies in my daughter's room.

00:55She had snuck under the bed and was sandwiched between a box and the wall under the bed.

01:10Person who actually rescues a dog out of the shelter shares a special bond with the rescue

01:14dog.

01:15They'll never forget that person who got them out of that horrific situation and they form

01:19a special bond with them.

01:25Mimi's hair has been growing out and I haven't trimmed her because she's had so much work

01:30with her puppies.

01:31So, yeah, her hair falls into her face, but I think that that gives her personality and

01:35it's cute.

01:37Her little barrette helps hold her hair back and help you have eye-to-eye contact.

02:01She's the sort of sweet, gentle love.

02:03She loves attention.

02:04She will sit for hours on your lap while you pet her.

02:07She's just a good dog.

02:08Everybody she meets she loves.

02:10She's very happy.

02:12She has just a very soft and kind demeanor.

02:15I think Mimi is a survivor because she certainly had a home, got away from that home, had puppies

02:23and has been a great mom, taking care of six puppies in a home that she didn't know before.

02:31It's a lot for a little dog to have to go through and then to be a new mom on top of

02:35all that, it's really difficult.

02:37I can just tell by looking in her eyes that she's so delighted to have people that care

02:42about her and to be in a warm environment.
