00:00Cute and emotional. I think we hit all points on this one. I think it was good.
00:05Hey, come on in. Matt and I were just revisiting our experience working on Walk Like a Man trailer.
00:10I'm here too. Did you guys not know I was sitting here?
00:14Anyway, sit and stay a while and come on this magical journey with us.
00:19My wish came true!
00:22He never had it, so doggone good.
00:26I'm having the time of my life!
00:29In the past, we've been lucky to work with some amazing dogs for our videos.
00:33These dogs are mainly trained for obedience, but this time around, we get a chance to work with some dogs that are trained for entertainment.
00:39You've probably seen a lot of these dogs on the last season of America's Got Talent.
00:43Wait, Matt. Don't you mean O-LAT-TAY dogs?
00:47Yes, Nick. I mean the O-LAT-TAY dogs. And as you can see, they're very talented.
00:53We decided to audition this year because we had been watching the show and we thought that we were ready for it.
00:58Being a part of this whole thing, it gives you a sense of, I don't know, you feel like, oh, I accomplished a lot of stuff.
01:04We wanted to take them from stage to screen and showcase their talents through telling a fictional story.
01:09Since the dogs can do human-like tricks like ride scooters, dance, and do backflips,
01:15we thought it would be fun to create a story about a normal dog who wanted to be a man.
01:20Richard O-LAT-TAY, the dog's owner and trainer, suggested that we use his dog, Cholo,
01:24because he can, wait for it, walk like a man.
01:33So let's explain how we did this shot.
01:35During filming, we knew that Richard needed to be close to Cholo for him to hear his commands.
01:40So we shot Richard and Cholo walking down the sidewalk first.
01:44Then we shot our actor, Ben, walking on all fours on the same sidewalk.
01:49In post-production, we made what's called a mask around Cholo so only he was in the frame.
01:55We then layered Cholo over the footage of Ben.
01:59Now it looks like Cholo is walking behind Ben.
02:02Lastly, we added a leash for the effect that Cholo was taking Ben for a walk.
02:12Now, in the trailer, once the dog becomes a man, we give him a voice.
02:15We thought Adam Sandler would be perfect for this.
02:17But due to time constraints and the fact that we didn't ask him, we chose Ben.
02:22Luckily, he can do a great Adam Sandler.
02:39We cut that scene.
02:40He can also do a great movie trailer voice.
02:42This summer, not all dogs go to heaven.
02:46Lighter than that? Okay.
02:47A little lighter, yeah.
02:48Every dog has its day.
02:50His dog days are behind him.
02:52But are they over?
02:54Life went from rough to bark.
02:56Life went from bark to rougher.
02:59Life went from rough to barker.
03:02Life went from bark to barker.
03:05Life went from rough to rougher.
03:08R-U-F-F.
03:09And that's how we made a walk like a man movie trailer.
03:13We sure had a lot of fun making it, didn't we Ben?
03:17We sure did.
03:18And be sure to watch more videos on thepetcollective.tv.
