00:00 The whole Denver, our guilty dog viral video has just been something that I never expected.
00:10 We never planned it.
00:12 It was never executed to be this.
00:15 And by the time we figured out what it was, we could never catch up to it.
00:25 When Denver started with that phase, I think it was something that people never thought
00:32 an animal could do.
00:33 And let me be clear, we didn't either.
00:37 I absolutely believe she knows she's famous.
00:41 She's a star.
00:43 Hi, my name is Mally Vajanic and I am Denver's dad.
00:47 Did you get into the cat treats, Denver?
00:49 Was that you?
00:50 Oh, Denver.
00:51 Who wouldn't want to wake up and see Denver in their news feed?
00:56 I've got hundreds of thousands of private messages.
01:01 I want to make a viral video.
01:02 How do I do it?
01:03 Can you give me some advice on what I can do?
01:05 And you can.
01:08 It's hard.
01:11 It's really unpredictable.
01:12 You never know what the internet will like.
01:14 I like to say that the internet's a wild west.
01:16 More natural kind of surprising videos seem to fare better.
01:21 Good luck.
01:22 You know, if it happens, it happens.
01:23 You'll know.
01:26 She's just a big teddy bear.
01:29 I mean, really, she's so lovable and snuggles up with you like a little doll baby.
01:35 She's just amazing.
01:36 I have to tell you, as a little puppy at seven weeks old, she was a little terror.
01:42 She just bit everything.
01:43 She was a menace.
01:44 She wanted everyone's attention in the room.
01:47 But finally she broke, and that's when her personality really started to come out.
01:53 Denver's guilty video is now just over two years old.
01:56 Apparently, while I was out, somebody got into the kitty cat treats.
02:04 You obviously know that Denver is guilty and has eaten the cat treats.
02:09 Did you do this?
02:10 Denver, you won't look at me.
02:12 Who hasn't seen their dog be really sad that they did something stupid?
02:15 She's a wonderful animal, but it's like, "Okay, I can get away with it because I'm Denver."
02:21 Come here.
02:22 Let me see.
02:23 Let me see your face.
02:25 All dogs, they all go to heaven, but this dog is having a harder time getting there.
02:31 Oh my goodness, Denver, you didn't.
02:33 What you saw happen.
02:35 You did this?
02:39 I took it right to Facebook.
02:40 I put it on there, and that's when it just went crazy.
02:43 Within 10 minutes, there was 100 responses.
02:46 It just became this great thing because you could immediately understand why it was funny,
02:50 who it was funny to, but it's also universal because almost everyone has met a dog that
02:55 was probably embarrassed about what it did.
02:56 Are you sorry about it?
02:58 It's amazing that that video has 25 million views, and it continues to grow.
03:02 I think it's because we all have been there.
03:04 We've all done something bad.
03:06 We've all felt really guilty.
03:08 I think it's us connecting with animals.
03:10 Denver's video, right before we went on national television with it, had been shared like a
03:15 million times on Facebook.
03:17 I think the things that really become viral and really have this exciting energy that
03:23 really makes you want to go and share it with everyone you know is almost unexpected.
03:29 It took off.
03:30 I mean, it genuinely took off.
03:31 It was purely social media that got that going.
03:35 When you don't expect to have an immediate reaction from it, and you do, that is like
03:43 internet gold.
03:44 It's one of those magical moments where you have no explanation, but the planet's all
03:50 lined up.
03:51 I think when things naturally happen, and there's just that energy of being like, "OMG,
03:58 I want to share that to everyone," that's almost like when it becomes like an epidemic.
04:01 The number of views on Denver's video right now, I believe, on YouTube is about 24 million.
04:06 It's this weird thing where an animal will become popular because it's put in a media
04:11 context that just fits it perfectly.
04:12 It's like this great match, and then people can just go nuts.
04:16 The fact that she has so many fans just blows me away.
04:19 I mean, I've got 600.
04:21 She has 56,000.
04:22 When it comes to social media, she's in it.
04:26 We've had this video touch people in ways that it's beyond what we ever imagined.
04:35 The impact has just been paramount.
04:39 At some point, 25 years from now, somebody's going to say, "Remember that dog video?
04:45 Remember that?
04:46 It's still going to be on YouTube.
04:47 It's not going anywhere."
04:50 They leave a lasting impression.
