00:00Hey everybody, welcome to this episode of Dog Food.
00:04I'm Chef Poodle and this is my talented sous-chef, Chef Jan.
00:08Thanks, Chef.
00:14Chef Jan, as you know, here on Dog Food we strive to make delicious
00:17and nutritious food that you can eat with your human companion.
00:21That's right, Chef, and boy do we have a treat for you today. That is right,
00:24I am so excited. Today we are making delicious peanut butter oatmeal cookies.
00:29They're so good. Should we get started? Absolutely. All right, why don't you tell
00:33us what we've got and hand me the ingredients and we'll get mixing. So we
00:36take a large mixing bowl like this and we're going to take all of our ingredients
00:41and mix them together and the fun part is we do it with our hands. Ooh, that is my
00:45favorite part. All right, hand it over here. So we've got the large mixing bowl,
00:48we've got two cups of flour. Ah, flour. One cup of rolled oats. Ooh, oats.
00:55Smells like oats.
00:57Chef, you're so funny. Oh, I try, I try. It distracts me from eating all the food
01:01that we're putting in the bowl. My favorite part. Your favorite part. My
01:04favorite part. Oh, yeah. We got to kind of scrape this out with our hands. Oh,
01:10yeah. Yeah. So good. Here, can you take that back for me? Absolutely. Oh, so,
01:16so good. Look how well behaved I'm being. And our last ingredient. Why don't you
01:21just pour that in here for me? You got it. Oh, that's not too hot. Remember hot
01:26means you still want to be able to put your hands in there if you're a person.
01:29Or a chef poodle. All right. Well, I am just having a great time here. Let me
01:34taste that, see how that tastes. Mmm, mmm, mmm. We'll save some for us. Okay. So is
01:40there a consistency that we're looking for here, Chef Jan? Yes, Chef. We're gonna
01:43knead the dough until it's nice and thick. If it does get pasty, you can
01:47always add more flour. Next, you're gonna make sure your cutting board is nice and
01:51floured along with your rolling pin. And Chef, will you do the honors? I am so
01:55excited. Throw that dough onto the board. Perfect. I'm gonna hand that off to you. Now you're gonna want to roll the dough out till it's about a
02:03quarter-inch thick. I'm gonna get that more in the middle. Great job, Chef. Looking good. Yeah. I'm gonna make sure that that's a quarter-inch
02:10thick for me there, Janelle. I sure will. Thanks. All right, great. So that's looking good. So
02:14what's the next step? So up next, we're gonna have the fun part.
02:18Oh, it's all been the fun part to me, Janelle. Oh my gosh. We get to play with
02:22cookie cutters. Oh, I can't wait. Oh, there's a little horse. Yeah, a horse or maybe a dog for you. Oh, I like that.
02:29Kind of like an Irish Wolfhound or something. A big dog. But you can use any
02:34shapes or sizes at home. I think I'm gonna go with the Irish Wolfhound, as I
02:38like to call it. So I'll be here. All right. Kind of off towards the edge so I'm not getting too much extra out. There we go.
02:44Push it in nice and firm until you feel the board underneath and then pull it
02:48out. And once you get your cookies cut, you're gonna want to put them on a
02:51nonstick pan just like this. Ooh, look at that. That smells good. That smells
02:55nonstick to me. Yeah, it does. Want to do the honors there on that one, Janelle?
02:58Absolutely. Mmm, smells delicious. Oh, okay. I can't resist. I can't resist. But we'll put that one in the oven first. Not yet, not yet. But that one's mine. Okay, deal. All right, Chef Jan. So we got all of our
03:10cookies cut out and all of our shapes look beautiful. Now what do you got there?
03:13I've got a nice egg wash that's gonna make these cookies shiny and actually you
03:17too. That's right. Eggs give dogs a nice shiny coat. Little fun fact. Now that we've
03:22got the egg wash on the cookies, it's time to put them in the oven. Now we've
03:25preheated it to 350 degrees. We're gonna put those in there for 40 minutes. Go for
03:29it. Absolutely. And while you're over there, do me a favor. Pick up the
03:34cookies that we cooked earlier and we'll show you what they look like when we're
03:38all done. Mmm, mmm, mmm. Ooh, want to get in there. Those smell so good. So we've got the final product, peanut butter oatmeal cookie
03:45biscuit. That's right. That's the one I like. All right, you want to do the honors? Yes,
03:50please. Give it to me. Mmm, mmm, mmm. Yeah, it's like a wishbone. Aww, we're best friends. We are best friends. We're cookie
04:03buddies. We share. Mm-hmm. That's delicious, Chef. Yeah, it came out really good, right?
04:08You can have the rest of mine. Oh, well thank you. I think it was really mine.
