"La Vie En Rose", which is French for "Life in Pink" or "Life in Rosy Hues", was the signature song of French singer Édith Piaf, written in 1945 by Édith and Louis Guglielmi (aka Louiguy).
Grace Jones' version is one of very many covers of the song throughout the years, but my most favourite of all. I first heard this particular version of the song during TV coverage of the 1991 Monaco Grand Prix (which was won by Ayrton Senna), and I fell in love with it instantly, even though at the time, I had no idea of the name of the song or even who the singer was.
Such a be-fitting tune for the opulence that IS Monaco!
