In mid-2005, film director David Iglesias commissioned Wayne Hussey, guitarist and lead singer of THE MISSION UK, the theme song for the forthcoming animation film ''Il Mercenario: Guerrero Sin Nombre'' (English: ''Mercenary: The Nameless Warrior'') produced by Javier López Blanco for Tornasol Films, due to 2006.
With a brand new line-up of THE MISSION UK, now comprising Wayne Hussey (vocals, guitars), Richie Vernon (bass), Rob Holliday (guitars) and Steve Spring (drums), Hussey wrote and recorded with the band their first new single in almost 4 years titled ''Breathe Me In''.
It was released on 22 August 2005 in Germany on Oblivion Label/SPV, as a strictly limited edition digipak CD of 3000 copies only (worldwide) featuring two versions of the track, one being the ''Radio Edit'' (4:08) and the other the ''Full Version'' (5:29) with a longer guitar part in the middle of the song and with a longer end.
''Breathe Me In'' topped the German Independent Charts at #1 in the first week of September 2005, after climbing up from its previous position at #3 in the last week of August.
The animation film ''Il Mercenario: Guerrero Sin Nombre'' received its premiere in Madrid, Spain on Friday, 07 April 2006. To coincide with the film’s release, director David Iglesias had put together a promo-video for the song utilizing clips from his film and live clips from the band’s gig in Köln, Germany in April 2004 available on THE MISSION UK DVD titled ''Lighting The Candles'' that had already been released in Germany on 26 September 2005 on Oblivion label/SPV.
