"Faît Accompli" (English: "accomplished fact") is a song by English alternative rock band CURVE, formed in 1990 by multi-instrumentalist musician Dean Garcia and vocalist front-woman Toni Halliday.
After a series of three EPs in a row, on 09 March 1992 the band released their long awaited debut studio album 'DOPPELGÄNGER', preceded on 24 February 1992 by the leading single "Faît Accompli" (4:10) - both releases on Anxious Records, UK.

The track was recorded during the album sessions (from July 'til October 1991), produced and engineered by Curve & Flood and remixed by Alan Moulder at The Church, assisted by Dick Meaney.
With its upbeat, menacing tempo and its dark lyrics apparently about a person’s fate being inevitably dependant on things uncontrollable (from passionate affairs to drug addiction), the single was critically acclaimed and got selected as "Single of the Week" by British music newspaper Melody Maker.

A promo video was shot to accompany the release of the single directed by Sophie Muller, featuring the official and the touring members of the band performing the song in a dark room at the presence of a sheep!
Toni Halliday quoted in an interview with Manuel Michalowski in 1992: "I like to see performance videos, and the girl who makes our videos, Sophie Muller, has this way of capturing the quality of the song, the atmosphere of the song. And sometimes it really shocks me when I see the video. I say, "What...we didn't do that!" And she says, "Oh yes you did!" It's quite shocking sometimes to see it. She always manages to do it, to translate it, in some way. She seems to understand [what the music means], understand it even more so than we do (chuckles) […] She's done the new one "Faît Accompli" for the new record; it's really great! When I first saw it, I was so shocked! […] It's a performance video in color and black and white."

On 07 March 1992, "Faît Accompli" entered the UK Top75 Singles chart at its highest position #22 and in the following week (March 14th), it dropped to #37. It spent its third and final week (March 21st), last seen at #74, before exiting the chart for good.

Although never released in the U.S.A. , thanks to extensive airplay on the radio there, "Faît Accompli" became a commercial success, reaching at #27 on 09 May 1992 on Billboard’s "Dance Music/Club Play Songs" with a total of 7 weeks in that chart and it did even better on US Billboard’s "Modern Rock Tracks" (aka "Alternative Songs" nowdays) where it stayed for 6 weeks peaking at #17 on 25 April 1992.
