The Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras parade kicked off on Saturday, March 7, with more than 10,000 people strutting their stuff down Sydney’s Oxford Street, dressed (or undressed) to the nines to celebrate gay rights. The issue of same-sex marriage is hugely controversial in Australia and, over the weekend, broadcaster SBS pulled the Australian Marriage Forum’s anti same-sex marriage tv ad from their Sunday night telecast of the festival. In this video, a busker drowns out a preacher protesting against the Mardi Gras.
