A slightly battered sweater that once belonged to Lombardi has hit the auction block and is expected to sell for around 20 thousand dollars. Sean McEvoy and his wife purchased the sweater last summer from a Goodwill outlet store in West Asheville, North Carolina.
The McEvoys paid 58 cents for it and hoped to sell it in their own vintage store. Their plans changed, however, after watching a TV documentary about Lombardi. Sean instantly recognized a sweater shown during the program and realized he had purchased one just like it.
