Sumatran Tiger Cubs At UK Zoo Emerge From Den

Three Sumatran tiger cubs were born at the Chester Zoo, located in Chester, UK earlier this month and the trio recently emerged from their den to take a little peek at the world.

Three Sumatran tiger cubs were born at the Chester Zoo, located in Chester, UK earlier this month and the trio recently emerged from their den to take a little peek at the world.

The cubs are the babies of Kirana, an eight-year-old Sumatran tigress. For the past few weeks, the cubs have been content spending time with one another and staying in close proximity to their mother.

Presently, the Sumatran tigers are still taking part in the same family-oriented activities. However, footage showing them emerging from their den and staring outdoors is an indicator the cubs are getting ready to explore and that their mom is preparing to show them off.

Sumatran tigers are often killed by poachers and currently there's an estimated 300 to 400 of them living in the wild. Curator of mammals, Tim Rowlands remarked,
