Tennis Players Use Speed Boats For Makeshift Court

Usually the game of tennis is played on a clay court but Roger Federer and Lleyton Hewitt recently branched away from tradition and did something far different. The highly recognized players carried out the match with some help from speed boats.

Roger Federer and Lleyton Hewitt recently branched away from their traditional tennis courts as part of a publicity stunt with the help of a couple of speed boats in Sydney Harbor.

Each man balanced in his moving vessel as they carried out their match. Given the instability of the boats hitting the waves along with the wind and water spray, hitting the ball and sending it soaring to the other boat wasn’t easy but the two pros managed to do it.

Their seemingly unusual game was done to promote a new tennis format called Fast4, which aims to make matches quicker. The two champs later met on the courts for an exhibition match with Federer taking the win.
