Woman Arrested For Murder Of American Teacher In Abu Dhabi

An arrest has been made regarding the murder of an American teacher in Abu Dhabi. The victim, identified as Ibolya Ryan was killed inside of a bathroom in an upscale mall.
An arrest has been made relating to the murder of an American teacher in Abu Dhabi. The victim, identified as Ibolya Ryan was killed inside of a bathroom in an upscale mall.
Now, police in Abu Dhabi have a woman in custody. A statement by law enforcement notes “She aimed to create chaos, shake the security in the country, and terrorize people in the UAE.”
Investigators also said that Ryan was solely targeted because of her nationality and that the crime was not related to a personal dispute. The alleged attacker is a 36-year-old Emirati native.
According to the UAE minister of the interior, the suspect had also planted a homemade explosive device derived of a lighter, nails, glue , and gas cylinders, outside an Arab-American doctor’s residence.
Authorities believe this act also wasn’t linked to a personal issue, but was instead a targeted crime based on his nationality. The bomb was made to inflict maximum damage, but the victim’s son found the device before it detonated and contacted police.
The bomb was defused without incident. Police haven’t revealed how they identified the veiled suspect seen on surveillance footage, but raided a home where a white car was parked that looks to be the same as the one seen on video driving away from the mall. Reportedly, the steering wheel was coated in blood.
