Melted cheddar and mozzarella act as glue to mold the Doritos onto the pizza. The crust is stuffed with the mozzarella cheese and the cheddar is sprinkled over the edge of it after the corn chip pieces have been arranged.
Pizza Hut reportedly spent months working to perfect the pie. The impressive part isn’t just about the taste and flavor combination though. The sound also factors in, making the ‘Doritos Crunchy Crust Pizza’ rather unique.
Pizza Hut Australia’s Head of Marketing and Innovation explained “It’s the kind of pizza that needs to not only be eaten, but heard to be believed. As you bite into the crust you’ll be blown away by the crunch – it’s not only seriously loud, but delicious.”
The idea for the pizza was born following the success of previous unconventional items that made it on the menu including the Cheeseburger Crust and the Hot Dog Stuffed Crust pies.
Currently the ‘Doritos Crunchy Crust Pizza’ is only being offered in Australia.
