Flashing signs,
Warning me,
Of animals in the road
- Slow.
As I crawl along,
At a snail’s pace,
In the inside lane,
I understand the sign.
A fox,
A deer,
And a badger,
All litter the hard shoulder.
Animals in the road
- Slow.
Remains of
Rabbits,
And what I believe
To be a pheasant,
Merged with the
Middle lane
On my left.
Animals in the road
- Slow.
These animals in the road were too
- Slow.
Or maybe,
You animals in the road
Didn’t.
