A man suspected of killing a Pennsylvanian state trooper in September has been caught after a seven-week manhunt.

U.S. police say Eric Frein also seriously wounded another officer in the sniper attack.

After an extensive search Frein was finally found in an abandoned aircraft hangar in Birchwood Resort.

Police on Thursday read out a diary entry where they say Frein wrote about the attack.

"I took a follow up shot on his head and neck area. He was still and quiet after that."

Frein's expected to be charged with first-degree murder.
