Ukraine willing to pay off gas debt to Russia

Ukrainian Prime minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk said that his country will pay off its debts to Russia immediately. The statement followed the signing of a new natural gas bill with Russia who is demanding that it also be payed in advance for fuel for the oncoming winter. There are still many details to work out as Russia supplies half of the Ukraine's natural gas, and one third of the European Union's gas, which is pumped through Ukraine. teleSUR
