A suspension bridge that connects two Swiss mountain peaks has opened for public use.

Officially christened as the ‘Peak Walk by Tissot’, the attraction allows visitors to travel the 350-foot span while taking in views of some of the Swiss Alps’ most famous mountains.

Those that can be spotted by bridge walkers include the Matterhorn and the Mont Blanc Massif, a mountain range spanning Italy, France and Switzerland.

The bridge is the result of an undertaking by the Glacier 3000 resort, and was reportedly quite a challenge to build.

Construction began in September following a season filled with particularly bad weather.

Be assured that while that made the planning more difficult, it didn’t compromise the strength and resilience of the bridge itself.

It’s designed to withstand even the roughest of area storms, which can produce a whole lot of snow and wind gusts well over 100 miles per hour.

The bridge is also capable of supporting the weight of about 300 people, but resort personnel say they don’t plan to pack it that full.

They think 150 humans is likely the maximum that will be allowed on at any given time, so as not to disturb the comfort and viewing opportunities of others.
