Life seems so much like a masked ball,
We wear masks as we waltz around the dance hall.
We mask pain with an impenetrable smile,
We mask fear with words so crude and hostile,
We mask loss with the darkest shade of indifference,
We mask anger with the strongest dose of indifference,
We mask loneliness with an invincible strength,
We mask no hopes with multitudes of faith,
Behind these masks no one is allowed to see,
The face that originally resembled you or me.
