"Mountain-Mother" is a literary expression created in 1945 by Sebastião da Gama, in a book, inspired by the Arrábida Mountains. "Mountain-Mother" is the religious exaltation of Nature and this term suggests merging the human with Mother Nature and points out the mountains as the motherly lap where the poet takes refuge to regain tranquility and confidence.
