The incident occurred on Saturday afternoon in Melbourne, Australia. A woman, presumably the child’s mother, let go of the carriage for a brief moment.
She dropped something and let go of the handle to turn and pick it up. When she swung back around towards the stroller, she saw it moving quickly towards the tracks.
The woman tried to grab the carriage but by that time, it was already teetering over the platform edge. The female quickly jumped down onto the tracks and lifted the stroller back onto the platform.
Concerned witnesses also leaped onto the rail line to help her. The baby did encounter some injuries, but they are said to be minor.
This past summer, a similar occurrence unfolded in the UK. Following a strong gust of wind, a baby in a carriage was blown onto the tracks of the London Underground.
The mom managed to lift her baby up, push the carriage onto the platform and get herself off the tracks moments before a train pulled in.
