A billboard in Florida is now up and attracting quite a bit of attention. There is a photo of a beautiful puppy on the advertisement and next to that image is a single website – KILLTHISDOG.COM.

Pets' Broward is behind the billboard that is located along I-95, south of Oakland Park. It’s the type of sign that stands out and makes those who see it remember the web address and that’s exactly what it’s meant to do.

Pets' Broward founder Meredith Bruder hopes the message will spread awareness about local pet overpopulation issues and attract people to the website.

Once KILLTHISDOG.COM is typed in, web users are taken to a page that shows an image of the cute puppy with a question, ‘should we kill this dog?’ Visitors have the option to click kill or save.

If kill is hit, an informational section pops up, alerting users that roughly 20,000 shelter pets are killed per year in Broward County. If save is clicked, people are taken to another page that allows them to donate to help save animals or volunteer their time.

Bruder remarked “I'm a longtime animal lover..Most people don't have any idea that thousands of animals are being euthanized every year.”
