Hollywood has lost a beloved actor. Richard Kiel recently passed away at the age of 74.

If his name isn't ringing a bell, Kiel played the steel-toothed villain known as ‘Jaws’ in a set of James Bond movies. The actor appeared in ‘The Spy Who Loved Me’ from 1977 and in 1979's ‘Moonraker’.

Steve Stevens who worked as Kiel’s agent for more than three decades confirmed his passing. Stevens commented “A giant man has now left the stage. Richard Kiel was a giant talent, a great family man and he was also a giant friend."

Kiel died on Wednesday afternoon, however the official cause of death has not been released. Stevens wouldn’t elaborate on it too much, but he did say his friend died of natural causes.

Kiel was born in 1939 in Detroit. The extremely tall man had a hormonal condition, known as acromegaly that left him standing 6 feet 7 inches tall at the age of 14.

By adulthood, he had grown to 7-feet-2-inches tall. The actor appeared in a number of other films and TV shows but he was best known for his performance as ‘Jaws’.

Earlier this year, he admitted that people would still recognize him as the James Bond villain when he was in public. Kiel, who passed away ‘just three days shy of his 75th birthday’, leaves behind a wife and four children.
