Driving a motorcycle can be extremely dangerous. A Brazilian rider recently learned that in a firsthand, terrifying experience.

Douglas Vieira had been cruising down the highway on his bike in the left hand passing lane. Meanwhile, a large truck on the right shoulder of the roadway quickly turned in front of oncoming traffic and illegally crossed over the four lane roadway.

Vieira was right there as the vehicle invaded his lane. There was no place to swerve given the size of the truck. There was also no time to slow down.

It looks like a fatal crash is imminent. Indeed an accident did occur, but somehow Vieira was able to slide right under the truck.

The bike slid forward, further down the highway and Vieira made it onto the grassy median. Remarkably, he was able to stand up on his own after the incident.

The truck continued across the median as if nothing had happened and turned on the opposite section of the highway, narrowly missing a pedestrian on the other shoulder.

Vieira posted CCTV footage of the accident, hoping to identify the operator or truck’s owner.
