Police in New York City are searching for a man who allegedly posed as a taxi driver while attempting to sexually assault a woman in front of her young children. A security camera captured the disturbing scene and law enforcement authorities released the footage in the hopes that someone will recognize the suspect.

The man picked up the 26-year-old victim and her three kids, aged 1, 3, and 5 in Manhattan. The woman thought she was in a cab and asked the driver to transport her and the children roughly 11 miles away to a homeless shelter in Queens.
Shortly before 3 in the morning on Sunday, they arrived at the destination. The man drove to the back of the shelter and tried to rape the woman with her three kids watching.
The woman managed to get outside and that’s when the male elbowed the oldest child in the head. He struggled to get the victim back into the auto, but when he realized it wasn’t going to happen he ‘forcibly removed’ the three-year-old from the car.
After that, the suspect sped away with his door open and the hazard lights on. Neither the woman or her three kids were seriously hurt.
Police describe the man as a 40-something Hispanic with an earring in his right ear and manicured eyebrows.
