Colombia: Senator engages peace process as a victim

In the early-2000s Jesus Alberto Castilla was forcibly displaced by paramilitaries, giving him first-hand experience of the plight of some of Colombia’s most impoverished victims. He later returned to the region and became a representative of local farmers -- the first steps on his route to the country’s senate.
