Police Investigate Chihuahua Shooting Death In San Francisco

The Peninsula Humane Society is looking for the person who shot and effectively killed a Chihuahua dog in San Francisco’s East Menlo Park. The brown, male Chihuahua was found on the street with entrance and exit wounds caused by gunfire to its back along the spine.

When police found the dog it was still alive, but unable to walk, and it reportedly had no identification tags.
The gunshot wounds caused the dog to loose voluntary control of urination and defecation, along with motor function of the hind legs and hips.
Since the injuries were so serious, the veterinarian had to euthanize the little six-pound dog, that was believed to be between four and five years old.
There is a thousand dollar reward from the Peninsula Humane Society and the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals in exchange for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible for the shooting.
If the shooter is found, they could face felony charges for animal cruelty.
