Andres Carrasco, a 73-year-old man living in East Los Angeles, was finally paid a settlement from Adriana’s Insurance that included approximately 21 thousand dollars in change.

In 2012 Carrasco sued the LA-based company, saying he’d been physically assaulted by one of Adriana’s agents.

A settlement agreement was made this past June and when the day to pay out came, a van rolled up in front of the office of Carrasco’s attorney and dropped off a check.

In addition, 8 people proceeded to haul over 16 5-gallon buckets filled with pennies, nickels, dimes and quarters into the lawyer’s lobby.

It’s estimated it will take at least a week to count it all.

Further, Carrasco recently underwent hernia surgery so can’t lift any of the containers of loose change.

He said of the incident, "Adriana's Insurance, is this the way you treat everyone? Why don't you like your clients? I am disappointed by the way Adriana's treats their customers and the elderly. We might be poor, but we are people too."

Requests made to the insurance company for comments on the matter have not been granted.
