A family of 17 brothers and sisters in Ocean County, New Jersey has been playing the lottery together for years, and now they will share the winnings. A one dollar quick pick 6 number ticket hit the jackpot for just over 20 million dollars, and the siblings decided to take the lump sum, which amounts to around 10 million dollars after taxes are taken out.

The family started pooling their money to buy lottery tickets after their mother died back in 2004.

They had all chipped in together to pay for the funeral, and realized that they had some money left over.

They used the left over cash to buy lottery tickets in honor of their mother’s long term goal of owning property on the Jersey Shore, and it finally paid off.

One of the brothers who will share the winnings reportedly lost his home during Superstorm Sandy, which wiped out his life savings.
