Woman Loses Relatives On Both Ill-Fated Malaysia Airlines Flights

Kaylene Mann's brother Rod Burrows and sister-in-law Mary Burrows were onboard Flight 370 when it went missing 4 and a half months ago. This past Friday, Mann learned her stepdaughter, Maree Rizk was killed in Malaysia Airlines Flight 17, when it was reportedly shot down by a missile.
An Australian woman is just one out of many people grieving for the passengers on two Malaysia Airlines flights. For Kaylene Mann, the tragedies are inconceivable.
Both her brother Rod Burrows and sister-in-law Mary Burrows were onboard Flight 370 when it went missing 4 and a half months ago. This past Friday, Mann learned her stepdaughter, Maree Rizk was killed in Malaysia Airlines Flight 17, when it was reportedly shot down by a missile.
Mann and the remainder of her family are left in tears, wondering how they could lose three loved ones on two separate flights with the same airline. Mann’s brother, Greg Burrows said “It’s just brought everyone, everything back. It’s just … ripped our guts again.”
The victims of the latest tragedy, Rizk and her husband Albert, were flying home after a nearly month-long vacation to Europe. They had traveled to the country with friends, who managed to get on an earlier flight.
The Rizks reportedly tried to get on the same plane as their companions, but unfortunately they couldn’t.
Although the family has been through far too much trauma in a short amount of time, Greg Burrows says he doesn’t blame Malaysia Airlines especially for the unforeseeable circumstances surrounding Flight 17.
