Brides and grooms in Hong Kong have the option of saying ‘I Do’ at McDonald’s. Back in 2011, regional franchises launched their wedding party program after customers inquired if the restaurant could double as a venue.

McDonald’s responded to the demand by offering the program. In the past three years, the fast food giant has hosted several dozen weddings.

At first, the ceremonies were only offered in three restaurants but since the launch, 12 more locations jumped on the wedding bandwagon. In addition to that, the company can also host anniversary, engagement and even bridal shower gatherings.

McDonald’s spokesperson, Jessica Lee explains the trend stating “We started the program because many customers tell us that McDonald's is where they first started dating.. This connection is exactly why they want to hold their wedding parties and even anniversary parties at McDonald's—to relive sweet beginnings and bring their romantic story full circle.”

McDonald’s offers several packages for couples. Prices range from a little under $400 to about 13 hundred dollars.

The premium option includes a 2-hour venue rental, wedding gifts, 50 invites, character goodie bags for guests, balloon wedding rings, an apple pie cake exhibit and a bridal bouquet among a few other extras.
