Ben Samsun, a 35-year-old man living in the UK, has such a fondness for the 1940s, he’s chosen to live there.

He’s transformed his Victorian era home into a World War 2-era abode, staying true to how it would have looked and functioned back in the day.

In the kitchen is a perfectly restored 1890’s AGA range all the way down to the bolts.

He’s eschewed conveniences like microwaves and dishwashers, but did indulge in a small refrigerator, which he keeps hidden behind a curtain.

Among his few other contemporary inclusions are a flat-screen tv and a washing machine, both of which are disguised as or behind period pieces.

The living area is appointed with personal-feeling mementos and knick-knacks while the furniture is decidedly 40s Deco.

He says he got a lot of his furnishings and décor items from his family, but as word of his interest spread, strangers now often drop by with period-appropriate items as well.

Now that his1940s dream home has been realized he has no intention of ever moving out.
