On Monday, a United Airlines flight attendant was found murdered in the trunk of a car in Gary, Indiana. The vehicle had been abandoned in a wooded area.

The victim has been positively identified as 54-year-old DeCarol Deloney-Cain. Her son, Blake Deloney, was contacted by United Airlines when she didn’t show up for work.

Deloney was employed by the airline for about 25 years and rarely missed a shift in over two decades, so right away there was a sense that something was wrong. According to police, her body was wrapped up.

Deloney-Cain had been stabbed several times and encountered blunt force trauma to the head. Police have searched the victim's home for clues, but investigators have not said if they believe she knew her killer or if it is a random crime.

There is reportedly a strong lead in the case, but thus far no arrests have been made.

The last time Deloney-Cain’s family saw her was just before the July 4th holiday. Now, her relatives are left grieving for the woman who was always smiling and hoping justice will come quickly.
