This prayer is a short paragraph that is said in the middle of the service on the High Holidays. It is a very improtant prayer and is said while the congregation is standing and the ark is open. It implores G-d to listen to the prayer of the cantor. It is a hauntingly beautiful melody that speaks to the power of the simple words and prayer in evoking G-d's mercy and kindness. The melody once again is traditional and borrows from music written by Cantors Johnny Gluck and Israel Bakon.
