Doctors used a special dye and a blue light to examine for damages and found that the surface texture of the bag had imprinted telltale marks on her right cornea and left a few scratches on the left one.
They also discovered some bleeding, but it proved to be minor and brief.
The scratches also healed quickly and in two weeks’ time she was back to enjoying her usual 20/20 vision.
Experts have cited the case as an example of the dangers airbags can pose, particularly to the delicate eye area.
