Heather Holmes, a KTVU reporter and anchor, recently became the victim of a brazen crime in Oakland. Criminals reportedly stole her purse from a TV truck, which had been parked steps away from the Oakland police headquarters.

Holmes confirmed the theft on Twitter with two tweets. The first one started out ‘R u kidding me?’ expressing her shock at the boldness. She had been covering a report regarding the violent robbery of another woman at the time her purse was snatched.

In a follow-up tweet, she noted “Oh the irony of it all...while reporting on violent mugging, my purse is stolen. Thieves used my bank card 20 mins after swiping my bag.”

The suspects used her card at a Chevron gas station close to where the van was parked. The 10 p.m. newscast had been about a female who was mugged by two men in broad daylight.

On Holmes’ Facebook page, she conveyed her disapproval for the fact she had become the news story and pointed out she wanted people to focus more on the woman who survived the horrific attack.
