Officer's Dash Cam Catches Near Miss With Jaywalker

Dash cam footage from a cruiser in Snellville, Georgia depicts the vehicle cruising down the street at a reasonable speed when all of a sudden a woman appears from between two stopped vehicles and nearly runs into the patrol car.
Jaywalking - you may not think it’s a big deal, but there actually is a good reason why some cops are big on handing out ticket for the offense.
To put it simply, jaywalking is dangerous.. very much so and a newly released video shows how hazardous it is.

The cop was forced to quickly jerk to the other side of the road to avoid striking her. The Snellville Police Department released a note on their Facebook page, which reads “And some people wonder why we do enforcement on people jaywalking!! This could have been so much worse. Thank God the young lady was not badly hurt.”
Police are hoping the video will raise awareness pertaining to the dangers of jaywalking. The department has asked parents to use the footage as a tool and warn children about the hazards of cutting in between two cars.
