A moving truck in San Diego recently wreaked havoc in one particular neighborhood after the parking brake mysteriously released. The driver had not been in the truck at the time of the incident.

On a recent Sunday, at about 1:30 in the afternoon, the moving truck had been parked in Oak Park when suddenly it began creeping forward all on its own. The vehicle plowed into numerous cars and took down a utility pole, which resulted in two power lines spilling onto the street.

According to San Diego Fire-Rescue spokesperson, Lee Swanson the transformer that had been on the pole ‘exploded’ when it hit the street. The end result was a loss of power for residents on the road.

To be precise, roughly 400 homeowners and renters were left without power, some of which was restored by the following morning.

Ray Celiceo had been taking a nap with his pregnant wife when he heard a loud crash. Once Celiceo took a peek outside, he saw the truck had damaged his vehicles and was left resting on top of them.

Hazmat crews were dispatched to the scene to clean up hydraulic fluid that was spilling into an ocean drain. The bright side to the story is that no one was injured.
