Kathy Rowe was outbid on her San Diego dream house and now she’s been charged with harassing the people who bought it.

"Instead of just finding another house, prosecutors say Rowe went to extremes making life very difficult for the new buyers. Kathy Rowe's target was the new homeowners
in Carmel Valley." [KNSD]

Among the charges she faces are felony solicitation and identity theft.

The list of what she called ‘childish pranks’ included placing an explicit ad requesting that men stop by the home to engage in various sexual acts when her husband was away.

Two actually showed up. One of them had been told by Rowe, "I also love to be surprised and have a man just show up at the door and force his way in the door…”

He was also advised to ignore any cries of the word no.

Rowe’s other actions included sending magazine subscriptions, posting an online announcement for a high school party at the house, and listing the home for sale.

She also invited people from several religious groups to stop by.

When felony charges were originally brought against her they were dropped, as the judge felt she intended no harm to the new owners.

The District Attorney didn’t agree with that decision, and appealed the case. The charges were subsequently reinstated by the Fourth District Court of Appeal.

If found guilty, Rowe faces up to five years in prison.
